Love Bird Parrots, also known as lovebirds, are one of the smallest parrots in the world, measuring 13-17 cm (5-7 in) in length with a wingspan of up to 24 cm and weighing 40-60 g (1+1/2 - 2 oz). They have a stocky build, a short blunt tail, and a sharp beak, making them easily recognizable. Wildtype lovebirds are primarily green in color, but different species can have a wide range of colors on their upper body. Notably, the Fischer's lovebird, black-cheeked lovebird, and masked lovebird have a distinct white ring around their eyes. Through selective breeding, many color mutant varieties of lovebirds have been produced for the purpose of aviculture.
