The Alexandrine parakeet, known for its sizable appearance, has a length of 56-62 cm (22-24 in) from head to tail and a weight of 200-300 g (7.1-10.6 oz). Its long tail, measuring 28-35 cm (11-14 in), showcases a beautiful green color with a blue-grey shine on the cheeks and nape. The belly is a vibrant yellow-green, while the shoulders are adorned with red patches. The parakeet's large beak stands out with its striking red color and yellow tips. On the upper side of the tail, one can see a transition from green at the top to blue further down, with a yellow tip at the end. The underside of the tail is also a bright yellow shade.
