The Northern bobwhite, also referred to as the Virginia quail or bobwhite quail, is a terrestrial bird found in Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Cuba, with additional populations introduced in the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia. It is classified as a New World quail species and was originally considered part of the pheasant family, although it is not closely related.
