Male Reeves Pheasants have an average length of 210 cm (83 in) and weigh 1,529 g (3.371 lb). Their striking appearance is characterized by a scaled golden white and red body plumage, grey legs, brown iris, and bare red skin around the eye. The head is predominantly white with a black narrow band across the eyes. The male also boasts an incredibly long tail, measuring up to 2.4 m (7.9 ft) in length and featuring a silvery white color with chestnut brown bars. Female Reeves Pheasants, on the other hand, are smaller in size, measuring 75 cm (30 in) in length and weighing 949 g (2.092 lb). They can be distinguished by their brown plumage, black crown, buff face, and greyish brown barred tail feathers, and are similar in size to a male common pheasant.
