The Moluccan Cockatoo, also known as the salmon-crested cockatoo, is a type of cockatoo that is native to the Seram archipelago in eastern Indonesia. With an average height of 46-52 cm (1.51-1.71 ft) and weight of 850 g (1.87 lb), it is considered one of the largest white cockatoo species. The female is slightly smaller than the male. Its beautiful white-pink feathers have a distinct peachy shimmer and the underwing and tail feathers have a touch of yellow. This magnificent bird also has a large retractable crest, which it raises in moments of danger to reveal bright red-orange plumage in order to intimidate potential attackers.
