The Dobermann is a medium-large working dog with German origins and a unique pinscher type. The breed was developed in Thuringia around 1890 by a tax collector named Louis Dobermann. Its distinctive features include a long muzzle and a beautifully balanced gait. Though historically the ears and tail were cropped, these practices are now prohibited in numerous countries. Renowned for its intelligence, vigilance, and unwavering loyalty, the Dobermann is popular as both a guard dog and a beloved pet. In Canada and the United States, it is commonly referred to as the Doberman Pinscher.
